How you can access and use OpenLobbying data.
What we offer
We provide structured, standardised data on lobbying activities in the UK. It includes meetings, financial contributions, lobbying representation, and more.
We do not currently publish a raw data dump while we are still improving data quality and coverage. However, you can contact us to see if we can assist your work.
Each data source is also subject to their original licences, which may have additional terms and conditions. You can find the licence information fore each dataset on the Datasets page.
Non-commercial and public interest use
Our data is licensed under the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) licence.
This means you are free to:
- make copies and redistribute the data in any medium or format;
- build upon our data, for example, by combining it with other data sources, creating visualisations, or using it in research and analysis.
As long as you:
- attribute the source by prominently linking back to OpenLobbying;
- share any derivative works under the same license described here.
These permissions are granted for non-commercial purposes. This includes academic research, campaigning, transparency activism, and personal use.
Additionally, we extend the same permissions to journalists working for commercial media organisations, as long as the data is used for public interest investigations.
Commercial use
For commercial use, you must obtain a separate commercial licence from us. Please contact mail@openlobbying.org for more information.
Note that using our data for commercial purposes without a licence, including public information on this website, constitutes copyright infringement.
Open source code
The code powering OpenLobbying is open source and available on GitHub.
It is licensed under the AGPL-3.0 License, which allows you to use, modify, and distribute the code as long as you also share any modifications under the same license.
